Job summary

Vercel is hiring an IT Systems Engineer to improve how our tools, systems, and processes work together. This hands-on role focuses on automation, integrations, and reducing tool sprawl, with opportunities to bring long-term structure to how the IT team operates.

Based at our San Francisco headquarters, you will design and build automation workflows, own vendor management, and collaborate with Security, Compliance, and People Ops to elevate IT as a proactive partner.

Qualifications

• Proficient in scripting with Bash, Python, and APIs.
• Design scalable IT systems and workflows.
• Experience using AI tools to improve IT automation.
• Strong cross-team communication and collaboration.
• Hands-on with building and maintaining critical systems.
• Proactive, strategic thinker aligned with long-term IT goals.
• Documentation-focused with clear, scalable knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automation workflows across core IT systems
• Lead tool consolidation and SaaS lifecycle improvements
• Own and improve vendor management processes including procurement, renewals, intake, and documentation
• Partner with Security, Compliance, and People Operations on cross-functional workflow optimization
• Build and maintain integrations between systems such as Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, MDM, and ITSM
• Contribute to and help enforce IT documentation standards
• Identify and address tech debt especially in high-friction workflows
• Help shift IT from reactive support to a proactive, strategic partner
