Job summary

Tarkett is a global leader in flooring and sport surface solutions. We are seeking an Automation/Controls Lead to join our maintenance team, driving equipment improvements and PLC-based control system initiatives on the factory floor.

Reporting to the Controls Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor, you will program servo drives, support robot and vision systems, and collaborate with suppliers/OEMs to keep production lines productive.

Qualifications

• Experience leading maintenance/automation teams.
• Proficient in PLCs, servo drives, robotics, and HMI.
• Strong communication with suppliers and OEMs.
• Ability to train junior electricians and mechanics.
• Ability to assist in machine validation and debugging.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Ability to design simple to moderate control systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance team reporting to the Controls Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor.
• Implement equipment/process improvements using PLCs, servo drives, robotics, and vision tech.
• Interface with suppliers and OEMs; represent Tarkett.
• Assist maintenance staff in debugging machine controllers, motion systems, and HMIs.
• Train lesser experienced electricians and mechanics.
• Assist the appropriate engineer in machine validation at internal and customer sites.
• Communicate with project team to ensure project awareness.
• Work with the controls engineer to keep schematics and backups current.
• Attend technical training and share knowledge with peers.
• Maintain self-motivation and supervision-free work ethic.
• Conceptualize, design, build and implement simple to moderate control systems.
