Job summary

SPX Technologies is seeking an Asa Maintenance and Automation Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain automation systems across the manufacturing facility. You will work with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to minimize downtime and drive continuous improvement.

This role reports to the Maintenance Manager and may tackle special safety, sustainability, and growth projects. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in automation/controls, experience with PLCs and robotics, CAD

Qualifications

Associate degree in Electrical engineering technology or related field.
Minimum of 4 years automation or controls experience in manufacturing.
Experience with PLCs from leading vendors (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, Beckhoff, Mitsubishi).
Experience with robotics from major vendors (KUKA, ABB, Fanuc, Yaskawa).
Knowledge of HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks.
Knowledge of CAD programs (SolidWorks/AutoCAD).
NFPA 70E Arc Flash and OSHA 10/30 certs.
Ability to read schematics, ladder logic, P&IDs.

Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot, and repair robotic and automated systems.
Program, modify, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial networks.
Lead startup and commissioning of new equipment and automation projects.
Maintain control panel documentation and electrical schematics.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on automation and control systems.
Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring failures.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and lockout/tagout.
