Job summary

Advantage Technical is seeking an Electrical Controls & Automation Technician to own and optimize critical production equipment in a high-performance manufacturing environment near Hunt Valley, MD.

You will troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, sensors, and robotics, while supporting control systems, FactoryTalk View ME, and industrial networks. Strong schematic reading and experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and PLC logic.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs; FactoryTalk knowledge preferred.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, electrical controls, motor controls, VFDs, and servo systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, electrical controls, motor controls, sensors, VFDs, servo drives, and automation systems.
• Diagnose issues using schematics, control drawings, and PLC logic.
• Support robotics, machine vision, industrial networks, and automation equipment.
• Modify and maintain FactoryTalk View ME HMIs and control systems.
• Assist with installations, startups, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
• Perform root cause analysis to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Maintain electrical documentation, drawings, and backups.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Quality, and Safety teams.
