Job summary

Advantage Technical is seeking an Electrical Controls & Automation Technician to support, troubleshoot, and optimize critical production equipment in a high-performance manufacturing environment.

Based in Hunt Valley, MD, you will troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, motor controls, VFDs, and servo drives, while collaborating with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Quality, and Safety teams to drive continuous improvement and reliability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and electrical/automation systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and PLC logic.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens PLCs, Cognex Vision, and FANUC robotics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, electrical controls, motor controls, VFDs, servo drives.
• Diagnose equipment issues using electrical schematics, control drawings, and PLC logic.
• Support robotics, machine vision systems, industrial networks, and manufacturing automation equipment.
• Modify and maintain FactoryTalk View ME HMI applications and control systems.
• Assist with equipment installations, startups, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Maintain accurate electrical documentation, drawings, and system backups.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Quality, and Safety teams.

We're seeking an experienced Electrical Controls & Automation Technician to support, troubleshoot, and optimize critical production equipment while driving continuous improvement and operational reliability.

Job Duties

• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, electrical controls, motor controls, sensors, VFDs, servo drives, and automation systems.
• Diagnose equipment issues using electrical schematics, control drawings, and PLC logic.
• Support robotics, machine vision systems, industrial networks, and manufacturing automation equipment.
• Modify and maintain FactoryTalk View ME HMI applications and control systems.
