Job summary

Advantage Technical in Leola, PA seeks an Automation Maintenance Technician / Controls Specialist to support automated production equipment and help launch a new custom-built machine. This hands-on role emphasizes PLC troubleshooting, electrical systems, and automation support in a manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience, reads schematics, and can work with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs.

Qualifications

3+ years of automation maintenance or industrial electrical experience.
Strong PLC troubleshooting and controls experience required.
Ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics.
Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments.
Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems preferred.
Electrical certification or technical training is a plus.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled automation equipment
Diagnose industrial electrical and control circuit issues (24V-480V systems)
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and ladder logic
Perform PLC programming and troubleshooting using Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar systems
Support sensors, motors, VFDs, relays, contactors, and servo systems
Troubleshoot industrial communication networks and automation components
Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
Assist with panel wiring, component replacement, and system verification
Maintain compliance with workplace safety standards
