Job summary

Ford Motor Company in the United States is seeking a Controls Engineer to lead root-cause analysis, develop validation methods, and program automation systems across plants. The role requires experience with PLC/CNC, robotics, and vision systems, and involves training personnel and supporting safety and networked control systems.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and be flexible for rotating shifts; extensive use of AutoCAD and engineering change

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Controls Engineering experience (internship and coop experience considered)
• Familiar with PLC/CNC (Siemens/Allen-Bradley), VFD, Servo, Profinet, ABB and FANUC robots
• Read and modify electrical prints and schematics; use AutoCAD

Responsibilities

• Lead problem solving to assist plants and implementation teams in resolving tooling, equipment and conveyor performance issues and downtime.
• Coordinate resources to find root cause and fixes; validate solutions.
• Read and modify electrical prints and schematics; AutoCAD familiarity.
• Maintain and update program backups for machinery and automation.
• Program new installations of automation, machinery, material handling, and robots.
• Assist in training manufacturing personnel and plant electricians.
• Read and modify electrical prints and schematics; AutoCAD.
• Familiar with OA, CPN/MPN networks and communication protocols for connecting to networks.
• Work overtime and weekends as needed.
