Job Description

As an Automation Controls Engineer with MartinCSI, you will be part of a system integration team applying technology in industrial controls and automation.

MartinCSI engineers work with various technologies, following well-defined standards and practices. Engineering work is performed in an office environment and on-site at client facilities. Strong logic and reasoning skills, initiative, and self-motivation to manage multiple projects are essential.

What you get to do:

• Design and develop control system applications with minimal assistance, including Electrical Design, PLC programming, and HMI/SCADA development. Additional applications may include Risk Assessments, Vision, Motion, and Robotics.
• Act as Lead Engineer, responsible for all technical aspects of projects and client communication.
• Develop project documentation such as functional specifications, meeting minutes, FAT, SAT, and project closure reports.
• Oversee project installation, startups, and testing procedures.
• Support sales with labor and vendor estimates.
• Mentor team members.

Remote Work: Up to 40% (2 days/week) remote work available for qualified candidates.

Bonus Program

Ideal candidate has:

• At least 2 years of industry experience in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA, and AutoCAD electrical design, with experience in Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Omron, or Siemens PLCs.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• Knowledge of NEC Code and NFP79.
• Experience developing and implementing control system applications.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, managing multiple projects.
• Willingness to travel to client sites (20% same-day, 20% overnight).
• Reside in or near Columbus, Ohio.
• US Citizenship or legal authorization to work in the US without a visa.
