Job summary

Blue Origin's Factory Automation team seeks an engineer to design, build, and deploy automated manufacturing systems across our facilities. You will craft control architectures, integrate safety devices, and help scale production with offline simulations and online commissioning.

Requirements include a relevant engineering degree and at least 2 years in industrial controls, PLC/HMI work, and experience with safety standards. US residency is required for eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Controls, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years hands-on experience developing or integrating industrial controls and automation.
  • Exposure to automation platforms such as robotics, gantries, conveyors, CNC, or process tools.
  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with safety systems including safety PLCs and safety-rated circuits.
  • U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S. per company policy.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on conceptual automated manufacturing equipment and contribute controls input from concept to detail.
  • Design and support control system architectures including network topology and safety systems.
  • Participate in industrial controls and electrical design of bespoke automation systems.
  • Analyze system behavior, identify root causes, and develop first-principles solutions.
  • Develop offline simulations to validate control logic and robot paths before hardware.
  • Support online debugging and commissioning of PLC, HMI, and robot programs.
