Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a highly skilled technical professional to provide key expertise to our automated manufacturing capabilities. You will join the Manufacturing team to help build world-class plants with state-of-the-art processes.

You’ll lead problem solving, coordinate resources, and implement vision control systems while collaborating with engineering, plants, and maintenance teams to improve quality and delivery. A strong background in controls and automation is required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of Controls Engineering experience (internship and coop experience will be considered).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls or Automation Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Lead problem solving to assist plants and implementation teams in resolving tooling, equipment and conveyor performance issues and downtime.
  • Coordinate resources to find root cause and fixes, manage and breakdown problems into items that can be validated.
  • Determine proper validation methods and process improvements.
  • Handle setup and maintenance of industrial bar code printers.
  • Utilize knowledge to design and implement vision control systems and review equipment for quality and delivery.
  • Use plant monitoring software to review cycle times and project installations.
  • Reprogram equipment for engineering changes and improvements.
  • Update program backups for machinery and automation.
  • Program new installations of automation, machinery, material handling, and robots.
  • Read and modify electrical prints and schematics, AutoCAD.
  • Maintain familiarity with networks and communication protocols for connecting to networks.
  • Manage installation and maintenance of antivirus software for controls PCs.
