Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Cincinnati is looking for a controls engineer to lead problem solving and implement automation improvements across plants and implementation teams.

You will coordinate root-cause analysis, program new installations of automation and robots, and maintain electrical schematics and AutoCAD drawings. The role requires hands-on electrical/controls expertise, problem solving, and willingness to work overtime.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of controls engineering experience (internship and coop experience considered).
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience reading electrical prints and schematics; able to modify drawings.
  • Familiar with PLC/CNC, VFDs, servo systems and robotics basics.
  • Proactive in troubleshooting equipment and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate resources to identify root causes and validate fixes; determine validation methods.
  • Setup and maintenance of industrial bar code printers.
  • Program new installations of automation, machinery, and robots.
  • Review risk assessments and evaluate equipment safety as part of a team.
  • Assist in training manufacturing personnel and plant electricians.
  • Read and modify electrical prints and schematics; use AutoCAD.
  • Maintain networking protocols for control systems and remote IO.
  • Manage virus protection for control PCs and perform backups.
  • Overtime and weekend work as needed.
