Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a controls engineering leader to join the BlueOval Battery Park Michigan startup team. You will drive automation strategies, lead an agile team, and deliver state-of-the-art manufacturing systems for electrification initiatives.

The role requires a strong engineering foundation, PLC/vision experience, and proven leadership, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency within a high‑volume plant environment.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or 4+ years controls engineering experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
• Fundamental working knowledge of industrial electronics, PLC logic, and controls.
• Ability to demonstrate leadership with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Capability to learn, use, and troubleshoot new software and hardware systems.
• 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing and 2+ years networking protocols.
• Experience with industrial vision systems (2D/3D) such as Fanuc 3D Vision or MapVision.
• Experience with PLCs (Siemens/Allen-Bradley), HMI, VFD, Profinet, AutoCAD, RSLogix.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to FPS and KUP processes and safety systems.
• Lead an agile team to deliver advanced manufacturing technology.
• Troubleshoot PLC, robot, and automation issues and resolve downtime.
• Coordinate with IT on interface issues and data collection.
• Program new installations of vision, fastening, dispensing, and test systems.
