Job summary

DNV GL, USA is seeking an Automation & Control Systems Engineer in the Austin area to lead control system projects for utilities and industrial clients. You will design, program PLCs, develop SCADA, and integrate complex communications networks, ensuring robust operation from factory floors to field sites.

The role emphasizes FAT/SAT, commissioning, and cybersecurity best practices, with hands-on work across multiple protocols and field deployments.

Qualifications

Experience designing control system solutions for utility/industrial clients.
Proficiency configuring PLCs, RTUs, gateways, and SCADA systems.
Ability to develop control narratives and IO mappings.

Responsibilities

Design and implement control system solutions for utility and industrial clients.
Configure PLCs, RTUs, gateways, PPC platforms, and SCADA systems.
Develop control narratives, I/O mappings, and communication matrices.
Configure and troubleshoot communication protocols including Modbus, DNP3, IEC-61850, and OPC-UA.
Perform FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
Support cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems.
Investigate and resolve field communication and control issues.
Develop technical documentation and training materials.
