Job summary

DNV is seeking an Automation & Control Systems Engineer to support advanced control system implementation for utility, renewable energy, and industrial infrastructure projects. This role focuses on controls integration, PLC programming, SCADA development, communication protocols, and field commissioning.

You will design and configure PLCs, RTUs, gateways, PPC platforms, and SCADA systems, develop control narratives, and document technical specs while supporting cybersecurity best practices.

Qualifications

• BS in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related discipline.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in industrial control and automation systems.
• Good understanding of automation principles, control logic, and architectures.
• Willingness to travel to project sites for commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement control system solutions for utility and industrial clients.
• Configure PLCs, RTUs, gateways, PPC platforms, and SCADA systems.
• Develop control narratives, I/O mappings, and communication matrices.
• Configure and troubleshoot communication protocols including Modbus, DNP3, IEC-61850, and OPC-UA.
• Perform FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
• Support cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems.
• Investigate and resolve field communication and control issues.
• Develop technical documentation and training materials.
