Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a hands-on Automation Controls Engineer to design and implement fully automated production systems. You will develop PLC, robotic, and motion control solutions within complex multi‑cell environments and work closely with a team to deliver turnkey manufacturing improvements.

The role requires 4+ years in PLC programming, familiarity with Fanuc/ABB/KUKA robots, and strong HMI/vision experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or related Engineering field preferred.
Minimum 4 years of PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell).
Background in factory automation, servo systems and robotic integration.
Experience configuring and tuning VFDs, servos, and motion control components.
Ability to write, modify, and optimize PLC, HMI, and robotic code for new and existing systems.
Experience implementing and troubleshooting machine vision applications.
Must pass a background check and drug screen; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement fully automated, turn-key production systems in multi‑cell environments.
Program PLC/HMI and robot controls; tune motion systems for performance and reliability.
Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams to integrate controls solutions.
Support machine installations, testing, and validations in manufacturing settings.
