Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions seeks an Automation Engineer to deliver and optimize control systems for mission-critical facilities in a fast-paced environment. You will work hands-on with conveyors, sortation, PLCs, vision systems and SCADA platforms to improve uptime and safety.

You will troubleshoot, modify and enhance software for material handling control systems while coordinating with site teams, maintenance, and leadership to meet project timelines and performance goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in engineering design cycles.
• Experience with PLC programming, robotics, and SCADA systems.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends/nights/holidays.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and climb stairs.

Responsibilities

• Promote safe working environment and comply with codes and directives.
• Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with site teams to repair MHE control systems.
• Inspect systems to ensure operation within design capabilities and client specs.
• Coordinate development scope and scheduling with outside contractors.
• Communicate with leadership and maintenance on timelines and production impacts.
• Perform controls system assessments to maintain and improve reliability.
