Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Companies Inc. in Winston-Salem, NC, seeks a skilled Controls Engineer to join Design Group. You will develop automation solutions, design control systems, and program PLCs/HMIs for diverse manufacturing projects.

You will collaborate with seasoned engineers, interact with clients, and contribute to site start-up and successful turnovers. A degree in engineering and hands-on automation experience are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering or similar field.
3+ years as a controls engineer in automated manufacturing environments.
Experience with PLC/SCADA design and implementation.

Responsibilities

Develop automation solutions across project phases.
Create design specifications, configure software, and test.
Commission and start up high-speed automated processes.
Design control systems and produce project drawings to meet client needs.
Program PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell) and HMIs (FactoryTalk, Cimplicity, Wonderware, Ignition).
Coordinate with clients, teams and vendors.
Lead project delivery and site start-up support.
