Job summary

JTM Food Group in Harrison, OH is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, develop, and optimize industrial automation and control systems in a highly automated food manufacturing environment. You will support PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, VFDs, instrumentation, and motion control; work with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, IT/OT, and vendors to improve reliability and reduce downtime.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electro‑Mechanical, Mechatronics, Computer, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

Design, program, commission, troubleshoot, and improve automation and control systems (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, VFDs).
Develop electrical and control system designs with schematics and safety circuits.
Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, IT/OT to resolve complex issues and improve reliability.
Specify and integrate instrumentation, controls hardware, and automation technologies for new/existing systems.
Support capital projects from design through commissioning and startup.
Coordinate with system integrators, OEMs, and vendors to meet performance and budget goals.
Develop and maintain plant automation standards and documentation.
Apply ISA-88/ISA-95 standards to manufacturing automation.
