Job summary
J.T.M. Food Group is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program and optimize industrial automation within a highly automated food manufacturing environment. You will provide hands‑on PLC/HMI support, develop control strategies, and assist in capital projects to modernize the facility.
The role requires working onsite, collaborating with Operations, Maintenance and IT/OT, and applying ISA‑88/95 principles to maintain safety, quality and efficiency across production lines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electro‑Mechanical, Mechatronics or related field.
- Open to experienced engineers or graduates with relevant coursework and projects.
- Fundamental understanding of industrial automation systems and controls.
- Experience with Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley controllers and FactoryTalk/Ignition is preferred.
- Ability to read schematics and electrical drawings; knowledge of NEC/NFPA standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, commission and improve industrial automation and control systems.
- Troubleshoot complex equipment and improve reliability across automated lines.
- Support capital projects from design thru commissioning and startup.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and IT/OT to optimize performance.
- Develop and maintain automation standards and best practices.
