Job summary
Actalent is seeking a Controls Technician to support troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of automated manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced environment in Byesville, OH. You will diagnose and repair PLC-controlled equipment, support electrical/automation systems, and assist with continuous improvement initiatives to maximize uptime.
The role requires experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley and Siemens), HMI, VFDs, and CMMS, with a focus on safety and reliability in a food/beverage
Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Automation or related field.
- Experience in beverage, food manufacturing, packaging, or other high-speed environments preferred.
- Experience with CompactLogix or similar PLC platforms preferred.
- Familiarity with aseptic processes and food/beverage manufacturing standards is beneficial.
- Experience in maintenance and commissioning of automated equipment is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair PLC-controlled equipment to ensure reliable operation of automated production lines.
- Troubleshoot Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC platforms, review ladder logic and fault codes to identify root causes.
- Support PLC/HMI programming to optimize machine performance and implement control changes as needed.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems using schematics and maintain control panels, sensors, motors.
- Maintain HMI systems, VFDs, servo motors, and related automation hardware.
- Perform preventive maintenance per PM schedules and document in CMMS.
- Assist with commissioning and startup of new equipment and upgrades.
- Coordinate with maintenance/engineering/operations on priorities and status.
