Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer to lead design tasks for food, pharma, and industrial EPC projects. You will develop PLC/HMI software, participate in FATs, and ensure robust control system integration.

The role requires collaboration with multi-discipline teams, travel to job sites, and oversight of instrumentation and control deliverables from front-end to startup.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited program with FE exam and 3+ years electrical engineering experience.
Master's degree in electrical engineering preferred.
Strong knowledge of ANSI/IEEE standards; excellent communication.
Experience leading discipline design on large projects; ability to mentor.
Willingness to travel; TWIC; PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

Execute automation and controls design for EPC projects.
Develop PLC and HMI software deliverables and FATs.
Coordinate with project team and clients; travel ~30% for on-site support.
Review P&IDs and verify controls scope with process engineers.
Perform quality reviews of design submittals and vendor designs.
