Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States seeks a control systems designer to create instrumentation and related control system designs using 3D/4D methods and to develop P&IDs, architectures and specifications. You will assist PLC programming and HMI graphics, test and startup activities, review drawings, mentor junior staff, and contribute to proposals and automation strategy while traveling 20-40% as required.

A bachelor’s degree and at least five years of related experience are required;

Responsibilities

• Create instrumentation and control system designs using 3D/4D design practices and develop P&IDs.
• Assist with specification development and PLC/HMI programming.
• Review component drawings and provide testing oversight.
• Lead staff and mentor junior engineers; review their work.
• Support proposals and marketing to Automation strategy; may participate in proposals.
• Perform other duties as required.
