Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company in Waco, TX seeks a Controls Specialist to maintain and optimize electrical, PLC, and automation systems across the facility. You will diagnose issues, support process improvements, and ensure reliable operation of instrumentation and control hardware.

Responsibilities include PLC/HMI development, system integration with WMS platforms, on-floor support, and collaboration with operations, IT, and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Certification in Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field required.
• 5+ years of directly relevant experience in automated distribution centers or manufacturing environments.
• Experience troubleshooting and recovery on Integrated Systems, Instrumentation, PLC/HMI, Electrical Systems, Industrial Networks and communications, and Warehouse Management Systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment, automation systems, and process-related issues across production.
• Utilize PLC/HMI knowledge to resolve problems and support new process development.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of PLC programming, HMI development, and integrated production systems.
• Optimize processes to reduce costs, improve productivity, and decrease cycle times.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, calibrate, and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems.
• Interface with OEMs, system integrators, and cross-functional teams to resolve advanced technical issues.
