We are looking for an experienced Automation Controls Engineer to design and develop electrical architectures for our automated sewing systems. This role focuses on integrating advanced robotics and control technologies to improve efficiency and performance in industrial sewing applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for automation
• Evaluate, test, and integrate hardware and software into control systems
• Enhance motion control and real-time surface feature scanning technologies
• Utilize robot simulation tools to assess technologies and implement designs
• Develop sensor and actuator subsystems for sewing technologies
• Configure, program, and troubleshoot industrial robots for sewing applications
• Maintain BOMs and training manuals for system documentation
• Provide equipment specifications and oversee quote requests
• Assist with the build, installation, and startup of automated sewing equipment
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed (estimated 5%–30%)
  
  

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in robotics programming (KUKA, FANUC, ABB, etc.)
• 5+ years of experience in sensor and actuator integration
• Proficiency in simulation and offline programming tools (Robotmaster, Roboguide, Octopuz, etc.)
• Strong background in structured programming languages (C, C++ in MS Visual Studio, Beckhoff)
• Experience with source code management
• Excellent troubleshooting skills for complex system issues
• Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and meet deadlines
• Willingness to travel and build expertise in industrial sewing
• Strong communication skills in English
  
  

Preferred

• Experience working with multiple robot manufacturers
• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems
• Knowledge of laser vision systems and industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, Modbus, PROFINET)
• Background in real-time operating systems and mechanical systems
• Understanding of automotive interior parts and industrial sewing (chainstitch sewing preferred)
• Certification in problem-solving methodologies

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required
• Concentration in automation, control systems, or robotics
