Job summary

Gregory Construction is seeking an IT Automation & API Integration Engineer to design, build, and support automation and integration solutions across our IT environment. You will own automation initiatives from requirements to production deployment and ongoing support, using Python, PowerShell, REST APIs, and cloud technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2–5+ years delivering IT automation, scripting, software integration, or API-based solutions.
• Proficiency in Python and/or PowerShell with production-quality code.
• Experience with REST APIs including authentication, error handling, data transformation, and integration patterns.
• Experience with Git/source control, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with databases and data-driven integrations.
• Ability to troubleshoot and support solutions in production environments.
• Ability to manage technical projects and priorities independently while collaborating with stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Automation Solution Development: design, develop, test, and optimize automation scripts and integration solutions.
• API Integration: lead API integration efforts including authentication, rate limiting, webhooks, error handling, data transformation, and pipelines.
• End-to-End Project Ownership: own automation projects from requirements through deployment and support.
• Python & PowerShell Development: build reliable, maintainable automation solutions.
• Development Standards & DevOps: establish coding standards, source control, testing, CI/CD, observability, and documentation.
• Production Support & Reliability: monitor, troubleshoot, and implement logging and alerts.
• Mentorship: mentor junior IT team members in scripting, APIs, and best practices.
• Continuous Improvement: evaluate new tools/tech to strengthen automation while maintaining security.
• Business Partnership: translate business needs into technical solutions with stakeholders.
• Documentation: create and maintain clear technical docs.
