Job summary

Jabil is seeking an Automation Engineer in Austin to design, build, and maintain applications, integrations, and automations that accelerate IT and partner operations. The role blends software engineering with platform-agnostic approaches, leveraging Python, PowerShell, open-source stacks, AI-driven automation, and low-code options to replace manual workflows.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/MIS/IT or related field or equivalent experience.
Typically 3–5 years building, automating, and integrating systems across multiple platforms.
Strong software development: producing production-quality code in Python or similar.
Automation as a core competency: removing manual work via scripting and orchestration.
Fluency with REST APIs, JSON, and authentication patterns.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain custom applications, services, and scripts using modern programming languages and open-source stacks.
Integrate systems that talk to each other via REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, with proper error handling and monitoring.
Automate workflows across platforms, including ITSM/ticketing and data-platform integrations.
Develop AI-driven automation and agent tooling to extend existing systems and accelerate development.
Stand up and maintain supporting infrastructure and dashboards (e.g., Grafana, Proxmox) and automate IT operations.
Produce documentation, runbooks, and training so others can operate and support the solutions.
Own full solution lifecycle from requirements to post-deployment monitoring and data integrity checks.
