Job summary

City of Chicago is seeking a Traffic Enforcement Tech to verify speed enforcement incidents captured by automated cameras and perform related duties. Under supervision, you will review photographic and video evidence, apply Municipal Code criteria, and document details such as vehicle, location, and time.

The role operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with training requirements and eligibility for career service status.

Qualifications

• Two years of work experience operating personal computer equipment and using standard PC software.
• NOTE: MUST COMPLETE 40 HOURS OF TRAINING FOR CERTIFICATION

Responsibilities

• Reviews photographic and video evidence to validate Municipal Code violations.
• Reviews photographic evidence and event data for parking, red light, and speed violations captured by automated enforcement cameras.
• Applies criteria defined by the City of Chicago Municipal Code and accepts or rejects incidents as violations.
• Enters license plate numbers and related data into a PC to document such facts as vehicle, location, or time.
• May retrieve and record requested photo images, as required.
• Prepares daily activity reports.
