Job summary

Infinitum in Austin, TX is seeking a Test Development Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test systems for electric motors and VFDs. You will create efficient test processes using LabVIEW and TestStand and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to validate performance and drive improvements.

The role focuses on test automation, data acquisition, and scalable test solutions, with responsibilities spanning design, implementation, and ongoing optimization in a hybrid lab

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field.
• Experience in test development, automation, and data acquisition.
• Strong understanding of electric motors, VFDs, and power electronics.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automated test systems using LabVIEW and TestStand.
• Create and optimize test algorithms to measure motor parameters (torque, speed, efficiency, thermal behavior).
• Develop custom test scripts and software interfaces for hardware control and data acquisition.
• Integrate sensors, data acquisition systems, and control hardware into automated test setups.
• Analyze test data and generate reports with insights on product performance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to improve test methodologies and product designs.
• Maintain documentation of test procedures, designs, and results for compliance.
• Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and upgrades of test equipment.
