Position Overview The Test Development Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test systems for electric motors and their associated control systems, including Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). The primary focus of this role is on test automation using LabVIEW and TestStand to create efficient, reliable, and scalable test processes. The Test Development Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to design custom test procedures, integrate hardware and software components, and ensure comprehensive data acquisition and analysis. In this role, the engineer will also collaborate with the Product Design, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to validate product performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize test protocols. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both hardware and software, with a focus on automation, data acquisition, and test system development. Experience with LabVIEW and TestStand is critical to ensure successful execution and integration of test strategies within the production and R&D environments.

2 Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement automated test systems using LabVIEW and TestStand to evaluate electric motors, VFDs, and related components.
  • Create and optimize test algorithms to measure critical motor parameters, including torque, speed, efficiency, and thermal behavior.
  • Develop custom test scripts and software interfaces for hardware control and data acquisition.
  • Integrate sensors, data acquisition systems, and control hardware into automated test setups.
  • Analyze test data and generate comprehensive reports that provide insights into product performance.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to troubleshoot and improve test methodologies and product designs based on test results.
  • Ensure test systems are scalable, reliable, and capable of handling a wide range of product configurations and conditions.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, system designs, and results to support ongoing development and compliance with industry standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and upgrades of test equipment and systems.
  • Provide training and technical support to test technicians and other team members on the use of automated test systems.
