Actalent in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a CAD Detailer for joist and steel deck design. You will convert customer drawings into clear detail drawings using AutoCAD 2D and support the full project lifecycle from design through delivery.

The role splits time between drafting and coordinating with customers and internal teams across North America, with a contract-to-hire path, onsite work, and training on a proprietary AutoCAD addin; strong organizational skills are essential.

• Hands-on AutoCAD 2D drafting experience in construction or structural engineering.
• Ability to multitask across multiple projects with high organization.

Responsibilities

• Transform customer drawings into clear, manufacturable detail drawings using AutoCAD 2D for joist and deck systems.
• Create complete manufacturing plans and documentation for fabrication and delivery.
• Manage 56 concurrent projects with prioritization and deadlines.
• Use a proprietary AutoCAD 2D addin for detailing workflows.
• Coordinate with internal teams and customers to ensure requirements and approvals.
• Review decking designs and connections to meet load requirements.
• Participate in internal drawing checks and incorporate feedback.
• Support problem solving for design conflicts and schedule constraints.
• Maintain organized project tracking and documentation.
