Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. in Rogers, AR is seeking a detailer to produce accurate fabrication bills of material and erection plans for New Millennium products.

The role involves drafting joist and deck layout plans in AutoCAD and coordinating with customers, steel detailers, engineers, and others. You will calculate joist and girder loading from contract documents, manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and ensure schedules are met.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluent with AutoCAD.
• Ability to visualize how elements fit together in 3D when working with 2D drawings.
• Willingness to go beyond typical duties to assist co-workers and customers.
• CAD related degrees and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Produce fabrication bills of material and erection plans for New Millennium products.
• Prepare joist and deck layout plans and sections using AutoCAD.
• Prepare RFIs and coordinate project details with customers, steel detailers, engineers and others.
• Calculate joist and girder loading based on design loading provided on contract documents.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced, production driven environment.
• Meet schedules for assigned projects.
• Other duties as necessary.
