Job summary

Laramie County Government in Cheyenne, WY is seeking an Auto Title Specialist to perform research across state/local databases to resolve VIN discrepancies, ownership disputes, and title chain concerns. Experience in titling, lien processing, and compliance with state and federal laws is essential; bondability and Notary eligibility are noted as requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required with relevant experience.
• Experience with consumer lending or motor vehicle titling in government or dealership settings preferred.
• Bondable and able to become a Notary may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts research of state and local databases to resolve discrepancies in VINs, ownership disputes, and chain of title.
• Corresponds with dealers, banks, and the public regarding titling requirements; liaises with DOT for vehicle histories.
• Examines and analyzes documents for transfer of ownership; ensures compliance with state/federal statutes and DOT rules.
• Accepts and verifies financial statements for filing and perfection of liens; maintains liens database.
• Interviews and advises customers on requirements to establish ownership of motor vehicles.
• Stays current on statutory changes and assists in policy development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
