Job summary

Belle Tire is launching an entry-level Automotive Technician Trainee program designed to develop the next generation of Certified Automotive Technicians. In this Auto Tech Development Program, trainees are paired with an experienced mentor to build hands-on skills, gain real-world shop experience, and progress into a fully qualified Automotive Technician within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Current student or recent graduate (within 6 months) of an ASE-accredited automotive technology program.
• Completion of coursework in brakes and steering/suspension preferred.
• State of Michigan Mechanic Trainee Permit (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Must obtain required tools within designated timeframe (program support available)

Responsibilities

• Secure vehicles on lifts and alignment machines safely.
• Assist with diagnosing vehicle issues and performing repairs.
• Support brakes, suspension, and basic maintenance tasks.
• Learn repair techniques across multiple vehicle systems.
• Communicate with team and explain repairs when needed.
• Deliver high-quality workmanship for customer satisfaction.
• Stay current with evolving automotive technology and tools.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop.
• Complete required training milestones and program competencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by store leadership.
