Job summary

Belle Tire Inc. is offering an entry-level Automotive Technician Trainee position within the Auto Tech Development Program.

Trainees work with a certified mentor to gain hands-on shop experience and progress into a fully qualified Automotive Technician within 6 months. Ideal candidates are current students or recent grads from an automotive technology program who want to accelerate their careers in a fast-paced retail environment, working on real customer vehicles and earning ASE certifications

Qualifications

• Current student or recent graduate of an ASE-accredited automotive technology program.
• Completion of brakes and steering/suspension coursework preferred.
• State of Michigan Mechanic Trainee Permit (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Must obtain required tools within designated timeframe (program support available)

Responsibilities

• Secure vehicles to lifts and alignment machines for safe operation.
• Assist with diagnosing vehicle issues and performing repairs
• Support brakes, suspension, and basic maintenance tasks
• Learn repair techniques across multiple vehicle systems
• Communicate effectively with team and explain repairs when needed
• Deliver high-quality workmanship for customer satisfaction
• Stay current with evolving automotive technology and tools
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Complete required training milestones and competencies
• Perform other duties as assigned by store leadership
