Job summary

Belle Tire is offering an entry-level Automotive Technician Trainee position through its Auto Tech Development Program. Trainees work under a mentor, gain real shop experience, and progress toward a fully qualified Technician role within 6 months.

The role targets students or recent graduates from automotive technology programs, providing hands-on training on brakes, suspensions, and other vehicle systems in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Current student or recent graduate of an ASE-accredited automotive technology program.
• Completion of coursework in brakes and steering/suspension preferred.
• State of Michigan Mechanic Trainee Permit (or ability to obtain within required timeframe).
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Secure vehicles to lifts and alignment machines for safe operation.
• Assist with diagnosing vehicle issues and performing repairs.
• Support brakes, suspension, and basic maintenance tasks.
• Learn repair techniques across multiple vehicle systems.
• Communicate effectively with team members and explain repairs as needed.
• Deliver high-quality workmanship to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Stay current with evolving automotive technology, tools and repair processes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform required training milestones and program competencies.
