Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack of California is hiring a General Service Technician to perform basic automotive services, including tire mounting, balancing, oil changes, and vehicle inspections, while delivering excellent customer service.

You will help diagnose, repair, and advise on automotive services, maintain a clean shop, and follow safety rules and company policies. The role requires flexibility to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

A valid driver's license.
Passion for a career as a Technician in the automotive industry.
Eager to learn and competitive drive to succeed.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
Continuously learn new technical information in formal training sessions to stay current with automotive technology.
Change engine oil and filter.
Install and perform tire maintenance.
Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
Install headlights and other small bulbs.
Repair flat tires.
Stock and unload tires.
Assist other technicians in performing technical activities.
Keep management informed of repair problems as they occur.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, safety, and environmental rules.
