Job summary

Pep Boys seeks a General Service Technician to perform basic automotive services, including tire mounting/balancing, oil changes, inspections, and other related tasks while delivering excellent customer service. The role includes maintaining a clean, safe shop and may involve advising customers on needed services and repairs.

The technician will support fellow technicians, learn through training, and work in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on safety and quality work.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license required.
• Passion for a career as an automotive technician.
• Eager to learn and have a competitive drive to succeed.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
• Continuously learn new technical information in training sessions to stay current.
• Change engine oil and filter.
• Install and perform tire maintenance.
• Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other small bulbs.
• Repair flat tires.
• Install wiper blades.
• Stock and unload tires.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep management informed of repair problems as they arise.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety and environmental rules.
