Job summary

Pep Boys Inc is seeking a General Service Technician to perform basic automotive services such as oil changes, tire maintenance, tire repairs, and basic inspections while delivering excellent customer service. The role includes maintaining a clean, safe workspace and assisting other technicians as needed.

The position requires a valid driver’s license, willingness to learn, and availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends. Full-time employment with benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Interest in pursuing a career as an automotive technician.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-changing shop environment.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Pre-employment background check required.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems (brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling, electrical).
• Attend formal training to stay current with automotive technology.
• Change engine oil and filter.
• Install and perform tire maintenance.
• Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other bulbs.
• Repair flat tires and install wiper blades.
• Stock/unload tires and assist technicians.
