Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack of California is seeking a General Service Technician to perform basic automotive services, including tire mounting, oil changes, tire repairs, and inspections, while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will maintain a clean, safe work area, assist other technicians, stock tires, and adhere to company policies.

Must be 18+, have a HS diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and be willing to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Passion for a career as an automotive technician.
• Eager to learn and competitive to succeed.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Willingness to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.
• Pre-employment background check required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair basic automotive systems: brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
• Attend training sessions to stay current with automotive technology.
• Perform oil changes and filter changes.
• Install and perform tire maintenance and mounting.
• Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other bulbs as needed.
• Repair flat tires and related tasks.
• Stock and unload tires for service bays.
• Assist fellow technicians in technical work.
• Keep management informed of mechanical repair issues as they arise.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop and follow safety rules.
