Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack of California is seeking a General Service Technician to perform basic automotive services, mount and balance tires, oil changes, inspections and related duties while delivering an excellent customer experience. The role emphasizes maintaining a clean, safe work area, adhering to policies, ongoing training, and teamwork with other technicians.

Candidates need a valid driver’s license, willingness to learn, and flexible availability across shifts.

Qualifications

Valid driver's license.
Passion for a career as an automotive Technician.
Eager to learn with competitive drive.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or GED.
Availability for days, nights, holidays and weekends.
Successful completion of pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
Learn new technical information in training sessions to stay abreast of automotive technology.
Change engine oil and filter.
Install and perform tire maintenance.
Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
Install headlights and other bulbs.
Repair flat tires.
Stock and unload tires.
Assist technicians and keep management informed of repair problems.
Keep the shop organized and clean.
Adhere to safety and company policies.
