Job summary

DOBBS TIRE & AUTO CENTERS is seeking an experienced Service Manager to oversee service and repair operations within a single unit retail store. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, focus on customer satisfaction, and lead a team of technicians to ensure quality and efficiency.

You will collaborate with the Store Manager, manage daily workflows, and drive performance while upholding safety standards and inventory controls. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in the automotive repair industry as a technician, service advisor, or service manager.
• Previous experience managing technicians strongly preferred.
• Strong technical acumen of automotive repair standards, tools, processes, etc.
• Valid Drivers’ License Required

Responsibilities

• Partner with Store Manager to interview, select and train service technicians.
• Evaluate knowledge, skills and performance of technicians; recommend development or promotions.
• Drive store performance: service sales, gross profit, customer satisfaction, safety, productivity.
• Oversee daily work orders: assign tasks, time, tools, materials.
• Provide technical diagnosis for general and complex service requests for all makes/models.
• Suggest and provide training to improve skills across technician levels.
• Ensure safe operation of tools and equipment; approve replacements as needed.
• Adhere to company policies, safety standards and procedures.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization and inventory management.
• Analyze financial/operational data to identify trends and improve underperforming stores.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve escalated concerns.
• Manage shop inventory of tools, materials, and equipment.
• Foster safety, accountability and operational excellence with teams.
• Possess flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends as needed.
• Performs other duties as directed by leadership
