Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group seeks an Auto PD Adjuster – Service Claims to manage a caseload of moderately complex auto claims from intake to resolution. You will determine coverage, conduct investigations, assess damages, and negotiate settlements in alignment with policy terms and state requirements.

You will collaborate across underwriting, legal, and other stakeholders, maintain accurate claim data, and uphold licensing and continuing education.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; bachelor's preferred or equivalent experience.
• Typically 3-4 years of Auto claim-handling experience.
• Guidewire experience is a plus.
• Proficient with basic computer navigation; MS Office and internet usage.
• Knowledge of insurance products, processes, and applicable laws.
• Ability to negotiate within authority and communicate clearly.
• Maintain required licenses and continuing education credits.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of moderately complex service claims from intake through resolution.
• Conduct thorough investigations, assess liability, and evaluate damages.
• Engage underwriting, legal, and stakeholders for comprehensive evaluation.
• Identify and refer suspicious claims to the Special Investigation Unit.
• Transfer risk to appropriate parties and maintain reserves within authority.
• Review and document intake claims; ensure compliant data entry.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve issues and follow processing procedures.
• Mentor entry-level adjusters and share best practices.
