Job summary

USA GPC Genuine Parts Company in New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead our NAPA retail store, applying automotive knowledge and customer service to drive sales and smooth operations.

You will support the Store Manager, supervise daily tasks such as counter sales, inventory, and deliveries, coach team members, and ensure safety and standards. Overtime and keyholder duties may apply. This role is a developmental pathway toward Store Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in the automotive after-market service industry or willingness to learn automotive topics.
• Leadership experience.
• Passion for delivering customer care and building long-term relationships.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales execution, inventory health, labor/scheduling alignment, and team performance.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across retail and wholesale channels (in-store, phone, and external dealer/wholesale calls).
• Model expected behaviors, processes, and customer standards.
• Execute or oversee opening and closing routines (security, cash reconciliation, end-of-day reporting, facility readiness).
• Oversee scheduling input, compliance, performance tracking/reporting, and basic P&L awareness items.
• Monitor core store metrics and drive problem solving for solutions.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for store functions.
