Job summary

NAPA Auto Parts in Colfax, CA, is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead store operations while maintaining active customer-facing sales responsibilities. You will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure inventory health, labor alignment, and excellent service.

This role offers development toward Store Manager, with potential OT and keyholder duties. You will model standards, coach the team, drive safety, and deliver strong sales execution across retail and wholesale channels.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in automotive aftermarket/service industry or willingness to learn.
• Leadership experience.
• Ability to lift 60 lbs.
• Customer-centric mindset.
• Knowledge of cataloging and inventory systems.
• ASE Certifications a plus.
• NAPA Know How

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales execution, inventory health, labor/scheduling alignment, and team performance.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across retail and wholesale channels (in-store, phone, and external dealer/wholesale calls as needed).
• Model expected behaviors, processes, and customer standards.
• Execute or oversee opening and closing routines (security, cash reconciliation, end-of-day reporting).
• Handle or support scheduling input, compliance documentation, performance tracking/reporting, and basic P&L awareness items.
• Monitor and act on core store metrics (sales, inventory accuracy/turn, customer satisfaction, labor efficiency).
• Provide leadership oversight, training and performance management for flexible execution of store functions.
• Support talent development: coaching and mentoring successors.
• Drive adherence to safety, asset protection, operational processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
