Job summary

Genuine Parts Company’s NAPA store seeks an Assistant Store Manager to lead daily operations, coach team members, and support the Store Manager across sales, inventory, and customer service. This role will handle counter sales, inventory control, delivery coordination, and security tasks, with overtime as needed.

The ideal candidate brings automotive industry exposure, leadership experience, and a strong focus on customer care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in the automotive after-market service industry or willingness to learn all things automotive.
• Leadership experience.
• Passion for delivering customer care and building long term relationships.
• Thrives in a fast paced and complex environment.
• Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales execution, inventory health, labor/scheduling alignment, and team performance.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across retail and wholesale channels (in-store, phone, and external dealer/wholesale calls as needed).
• Execute or oversee opening and closing routines (security, cash reconciliation, end-of-day reporting, facility readiness).
• Monitor core store metrics (sales, inventory accuracy/turn, customer satisfaction, cleanliness/organization, labor efficiency, loss prevention).
• Provide leadership oversight, training and performance management for store functions as needed.
• Support talent development: coaching and mentoring for advancement.
• Drive adherence to safety, asset protection, processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
