Fleet Auto Mechanic
Responsibilities
Starting pay rate is $25.405 p/hr. ($1016.20 wkly)
Fleet Maintenance Which Includes, But Is Not Limited To
Remove and install engines, rears, transmissions, and clutches; repair and adjust brakes
Repair or replace wiring, distributors and generators; repair and align front end assemblies; replace radiators and springs; and tune up engines
Mounts and dismounts tires, tire chains; repair and diagnose ignition system
Use of various hand and power tools, including precision gauges, electrical instruments and computers for use of updating equipment and receiving email, etc.
Assist Equipment Mechanic and/or Working Foreman
Diagnose road breakdowns and make necessary repairs
Perform road service as required
Perform state safety and emission inspections
Perform preventive maintenance inspections
Answering calls when necessary
Qualifications
Other related duties and functions as assigned
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Current, valid driver's license with "clean" record
PA State Emission and Inspection licenses required
Must be able to acquire a Class A Commercial’s Driver’s License within six (6) months of hire
Commercial drivers must meet medical standards established by Federal and State Regulations
Automotive AAS degree or have graduated from voc/tech automotive program a plus
Experience with medium to heavy duty trucks, van engines, diesels preferred
Must pass company entry-level test
The Auto Mechanic is a full-time, union position working in all weather conditions with rotational shifts to include nights, weekends, holidays.
