First Chicago Insurance Company is seeking an experienced Litigation Specialist in Lexington, KY. The role handles litigated and complex auto liability claims, performing investigations, coverage determinations and negotiations with defense counsel to reach settlements.

The position requires a college degree or equivalent experience with strong negotiation, organizational and interpersonal skills. A licensed adjuster and knowledge of legal/medical terminology are preferred.

Qualifications

• College degree and / or 5 years of applicable claims adjusting experience.
• Knowledge of legal and medical terminology.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass written examinations to become a licensed claim adjuster as required by state statutes.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation claims in accordance with office procedures.
• Determine coverage and draft reservations of rights letters.
• Investigate claims by obtaining statements, police reports, medical bills and appraisals.
• Manage litigation with defense counsel and experts as needed.
• Maintain diaries and file documentation per regulations and policies.
