Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a General Service Technician to perform basic automotive services, tire work, and customer-oriented duties in a fast-paced shop environment. You will help diagnose simple vehicle issues, change oil and filters, install tires, and support technicians while keeping the work area clean and safe.

Ideal candidates have a valid driver's license, a high school diploma or GED, and a readiness to learn through on-the-job and formal training sessions.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license is required.
• Passion for a career as an automotive technician.
• Eager to learn and improve technical skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Willing to work days, nights, holidays and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
• Attend training to stay updated on automotive technology.
• Perform oil changes and filter replacements.
• Install and maintain tires; perform tire repairs.
• Replace batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other bulbs; repair flats.
• Install wiper blades and manage stock in the tire area.
• Assist senior technicians as needed and communicate issues to management.
