Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. is seeking detail-oriented staff for vehicle detailing duties in a production-based pay structure. Compensation ranges by task from $13.70 to $20.53 and may include commissions or incentive programs depending on location.

Responsibilities include interior/exterior detailing, safe operation, and driving vehicles between staging areas during sales, with a focus on safety and quality. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are preferred and required, respectively.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Generally, less than 2 years' experience in a related field.
• Previous experience in detail shop or buffing experience helpful.
• Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
• Medium strength: ability to lift 1-30 pounds (light hand tools, etc.).
• Manual dexterity, repetitive motion tasks.
• Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Clean out and de-trash interior of vehicles, remove debris from ashtrays, console, dashboard, seats, trunk and engine compartment.
• Remove license plates, stickers, and unwanted window writings; disassemble spare tires in trunk.
• Wash vehicles with high-pressure washer or auto wash; apply chemicals; clean engine compartment; clean battery terminals.
• Detail vehicles: clean and dress trim, molding, weather stripping, instrument panel, steering wheel, dash molding.
• Buff vehicles: apply dressing, compound, cleaner, polish; buff exterior surfaces.
• Vacuum interior; scrub, shampoo and spot-clean carpet and upholstery; straighten seatbelts.
• Ensure warranty booklet and owner manuals are returned from glove box.
• Demonstrate safety by following procedures and supporting Safety Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including driving vehicle into building and during sale day.
