Job summary

Cox Automotive in Manheim, PA is seeking a Detail Technician (Piece) to thoroughly clean and detail vehicles for the Auction process. This on-site role operates during the day shift and focuses on interior and exterior cleaning, buffing, and preparation of vehicles for staging.

Responsibilities include removing debris, washing, buffing, and ensuring all safety procedures are followed. A valid driver’s license and ability to handle physical tasks are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Generally, less than 2 years' experience in a related field.
• Previous detail shop or buffing experience helpful.
• Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
• Medium strength: ability to lift 1-30 pounds (light hand tools, etc.).
• Manual dexterity, repetitive motion tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean interior and exterior areas of vehicles, removing debris from ashtrays, consoles, seats and trunks.
• Remove license plates, stickers, and window writing not related to Auction business; disassemble spare tires in the trunk.
• Wash vehicles with high-pressure washer or auto wash, apply chemicals, and clean engine compartments.
• Clean doorjambs, wheels, panels, and windows; detail trim with brushes.
• Buff and wax surfaces; polish vinyl and painted areas.
• Vacuum, shampoo, and spot-clean carpets and upholstery; ensure seatbelts are straight.
• Inspect glove box and return manuals.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in Safety Excellence activities.
• Assist with driving vehicles to staging area and occasional sale day driving.
